Kiyoshi`s Sushi in Sarasota

Scallop nigiri was very fresh and staff is friendly. Moving sushi conveyor inside dominates the space. Price is very reasonable.The rest of the nigiri I had (salmon, hamachi, tuna, etc) was very average in flavor, texture, and freshness. I'm still searching for that restaurant that has incredible nigiri in this town. Something that can compare to Sushi Azabu / Blue Ribbon Sushi (nyc), Juno / Ora sushi (chicago), Saru sushi (san fran), or Sushi Itoga (vancouver).

Appetizers were really good. But the sushi didn’t taste fresh, put way to much mayonnaise in rolls, and the stuff put in the rolls were way to thick!

Fresh and delicious sushi and sashimi. Sashimi slices are a good size, and extremely fresh. We enjoyed a large assortment plus some special maki. The most unusual thing was the menu was entirely in English when other sushi restaurants often print their menus in phonetic Japanese. Prices were as expected, not inexpensive but worth it. We skipped the Sake this visit, but noticed they had a reasonable selection for SW Florida. We will visit again.

Kiyoshis Sushi is, by far, the best sushi restaurant in Sarasota and beyond! A Hidden Gem! The service is top-notch and the food will leave you planning your next visit!

Best sushi in town! If you care about freshness and don't like to cover and smother your sushi in cheap sauces like most other places this is the best!

Shane and his dad have the best Sushi in town. They even make a hand roll that has been named after me. They are very accommodating and their specials are amazing. If you want the best in town, this is the only place to go.

Great place to get get awesome food! You can even sit near the window and watch and chat with the chefs while they prepare your food.

Excellent sush and great servicei! Kiyoshi and Shane are masters at their craft, I highly recommend if you're in the mood for a sushi treat!

First of all the sushi is fantastic and the owner takes pride in what he does and you can’t get better tasting sushi anywhere. The only reason they do not get five stars is because the owners son rubbed me and my family the wrong way. Don’t take that away from the restaurant please if you want great sushi go there. It’s just that the owners son had unnecessary attitude. But I stress again do not hesitate one minute to visit this sushi restaurant. Don’t let my one problem with the owners son stop you from one minute however an unpleasant experience is not acceptable and should be part of a honest review so that the young man can hopefully use as a learning experience.

The place to go if you live to taste the fish and not covered and smothered in cheap sauces. One of the last true Japanese sushi chefs left in Sarasota.

Ordered the softshell crab appetizer which was perfectly cooked, and accompanied by sweet potato, bell pepper and eggplant. The spicy tuna hand roll had a little twist and got it's heat from a peppery sauce instead of spicy mayo. The chefs served us a cactus roll which had tempura corn in it.. you could detect each ingredient in the roll and how it harmonized. Combine this with a friendly staff and this is one of the best sushi restaurants I have been to.
